Alter Ego’s

At a certain point in time the variety of sounds coming from the likes of Lazy raise the question “is this too much for one act alone?” the simple answer was yes.. So what was Almost Lazy known for & what was going to become something else? So this act stood back to see the possibilities, remaining true to their roots of Reggae & Dub Cultures & the Vintage tones of Hip Hop history.

What was left is simply experimental, blending the modern energies of electronic music with the likelihood of their usual lazy riddim formats, it was obvious to all that this split personality needed some separation… The question is where does it end…?

Three Pieces of Pasta:

A culinary experiment in sound created from the cooktop & wizard appliances, sampled, twisted, bent & broken then used to create… as messy as the image suggests…

Three Pieces of Pasta has become tonal, like a taste you can smell & a smell you can taste. From the beginning experiment in sound design to the table of tracks that has become more an honest mashup than a craft of songwriting, this sound is bordering its Glitch Genres with some of the laziest beats ever written. As a project its very unique, as an experiment in sound design its creative but as a vibration on the dance floor its pure chaos… We invite you for a meal of sounds created on the MPC…

Doctor Shocker:

When a nickname turned into an occupation the Earth tilted slightly off it’s axis & what was normal suddenly was not..

It was this, in the year 1991, that took the direction of life’s choices to become solely about the music at parties & the celebration of life itself. It never ended, only re- directed itself at the wide world that became journey, audiophile intrigued & chunky enough to be awarded a Doctorate. Aligned with the Instrumental Asylum, the good Doctor has assisted many an inmate with the highly diverse & capable sound design techniques to deliver the tones & directions from megaphones for the wellbeing of all…

With a sound hinged on Jungle riddims & Glitch Basses, Doctor Shocker takes back where he left off, takes off what he put on & pretty much defies all sense in social behaviour while looking like the track needs more Sub…. Its a really tricky thing to balance the frequencies that this madman puts together, from the lowest lows to the most stoned highs ever, it is an experience in itself to listen, it will change your life if you dance…

FlipSide

Play the FlipSide first… an Alter Ego sound system from the laziest producer, gone whack. Not quite sure if he’s ever coming back…

Third in the series of split personalities, FlipSide is a reason to look away right now…. Well rehearsed at pretty much everything bent, this act is a bi-product of a Winter Solstice birth, only able to connect with the world 1 day a year..

When you think of the Flip Side you might think experimental, avant guard, not the A side, or maybe just a skateboard manoeuvre. All of which are valid, likely to appear in any type of release & probably the reason why this sound will take off faster than the rest of these side projects lol…

Roadblock

Where it all ends becomes the beginning again, Roadblock is the ‘Pull up’ Riddim’s from Lazy.

Roadblock sound brings the live dubs to the streets of sound system culture with deep roots being the backbone of its sound.

trying to get Lazy to sound lazy in Almost Lazy was, to date, the biggest contradiction in terms & about as unlikely as making an omelette with egg shakers… As Almost Lazy became known for its heavier Dubs it became known that trying to run live dubs over it was pure chaos.. No doubt its worked on many a stage but none of Lazy’s real Roots tunes got a mention… really sad pushing straight riddims from the set lists & retiring them to another time… Well that time is now & the now is with huge delays… expect to be held up like a Pull UP & strung out like a decay knob as the most original sounds from this producer get a wind up on a system near you!
