Iration Station

This long awaited release of some of Almost Lazy’s oldest tunes is finally due on none other than 4/20 2019. Well tried & tested on crowds around the globe this release of 5 tracks is another headdy mix of Roots, steppers & plenty of Sub Bass vibrations to glue them all together.

After the 2017 release of their Messin’jah Mixtape “The Book of Kings” this act found that their original dub influences have generated much diversity within the genres, somehow capable of being hosted on the same release. Experimental perhaps, this act brings a fairly unique perspective to releasing music in todays age.. Bulkier & Beefier have been descriptions as their track counts exceed other artists by the listening community. This being their smallest release to date, a 5 track EP makes its debut as Irie Riddims deliver high vibe instrumentals & special guest appearances on vocals by some of the most honest MC’s that have jumped in the mix.

Head over to their ‘Releases” Bandcamp page to be the first to hear whats making Irie outcomes on the day of, as the Messin’jah says, humans evolution.

raspekt!

‘Leave it in the Ground’ feat Master Wolf 2013

When it comes to standing up against global atrocity, Almost Lazy certainly isn’t lazy.. Click the picture below to find out..

Having been approached by possibly Australia’s most effective active Environmentalist group ‘Generation Alpha’ (creators of Stop Adani) to produce a song that states the hypocrisy of Government decisions & their allegiance to Capitalist Environmental Terrorism, Almost Lazy took it to the streets.

In this case it was backed by footage of one notorious Queensland State Premier, before he took the Political position, as he says one thing & then does the complete opposite. Of course something had to be said!

Teaming up with our most respected MC Master Wolf on vocals, this track delivers more than Peter Garrett could in the most honest way… The time for a nation to come together is now & we are happy to have been co-creators in this to be national heritage.

It been really inspiring to see the average Australians get on the wagon of change with Stop ADANI movement, singing our song on the front lines & making it an icon in the fight for the respect to earth that is long overdue… hopefully it will inspire artists all over to stand up for our children’s future.. Respekt

Messin’Jah Mixtape Vol 1 ‘The Book of Kings’ 2014-17

With humanity on the path to becoming united or divided, the path has inspired to tell story of evolution through the foundations of Sound System Culture projected into the future.. The Book of Kings, the first in a series of historical releases, is painting an energetic landscape for the positive path in solidarity & shared consciousness, This is just the beginning… but you have to listen to it through to the end

Delivered in a format known as Mixtape, this theatrical journey is littered with the deep & meaningful intentions that every Almost Lazy song is written in Sonic form. Let the Tipping Point be known as the Messin’Jah’s rise to take back what humanity has lacked..

Dusty’s Tapes Vol 1.. Consequence of Influence 2014/17

ALMOST LAZY
DUSTY’S TAPES VOLUME 1:
‘CONSEQUENCE OF INFLUENCE’ EP
OFFICIAL RELEASE: 21.09.18

Available on all the usual suspects eg iTunes and Spotify, Bandcamp etc

Ok, lets take it from the top…

Sound system aficionado, radio personality, environmental activist and dope Producer ‘Almost Lazy’ has been holding it down on Australia’s Sunny coast for over 15 years.

With a bag of tunes under his belt bigger than a Santa sack, he’s finally doing the right thing by the world and starting to share more of ‘em round. Yes we’ve him on the Dubs & the journeys they take you but this time your in for something different..

The current focus is ‘Dusty’s Tapes Volume 1: Consequence of Influence’, a 7 track collection of Vintage tone toonz that collaborate easily between trip hop, downbeat, jungle and hip hop. It’s a dense, beat-heavy, sample-laden sound that emerges from the speakers; classically old skool and seriously ridiculously humorous.

Check out the name of the Intro track, ‘Worst is Over’, hahah,as it sets the mood, showcasing the vocals of Kai from Diplo’s track Revolution. It’s a revolutionary vibe for sure, taking historical speeches & turning them into statements, it leaves you positively empowered in any moment of truth. With this beat staying straight as the rest of the song comes from every angle, its a jam of a sound that will get you out of any sticky situation.

The consequences continue with the bass-heavy punch of ‘Buttered Up’, edging towards jungle as ironic samples from the old skool comment on a narcissistic online world like there is no tomorrow to witness our own behaviour… A Proper piss take from the one of the biggest culprits .. We wonder on what the future holds at times so we approach it with a sense of humour … in fact this whole release is littered with this musical sarcasm throughout, a prominent of Lazy’s

‘Kick or High’ picks up the pace and by now we know we’re in the hands of a beatmaker with a sense of humor and a cut and paste aesthetic. From the buzz within the music industry to the instruments we make our beats, this track is more like a rack of crack cocaine from a Girl Scout cookie than you know…

Half way & we come back to the depths for ‘Dripping with the Devil’ as sassy horns and social commentary cut-ups from the 60’s give us more to ponder on its truth today..

‘Feeling I Like’ moves us deeper into the imagination of ‘Almost Lazy’& the power of positive reinforcement to create change. these dusty broken beats with dubbed out horns, vocal snippets and some familiar from the Beastie Boys you will find high vibes amongst this one.

Track six delivers what you’ve come to expect by this stage of the album with a title like ‘Stoned’, as a newsreader raises the important question ‘How are you going to get home?’ – and the answer is provided by the crunch and wobble of closing track ‘Forget’ – You are already here.

With the Consequence of influence as a catalog digging EP, the journey is sound to say the least! A variety of vibes pulling genres into each other with the likes of Lazy’s MPC technique. An all Analog release from the vaults, Dusty’s Tapes are going to get you up & then down with the vibrations you can trust from the likes of ‘Almost Lazy’

‘Niceness’ Live & Rubbed

Warming up the stage for New Zealand heavyweights ‘Salmonella Dub’ on their 2016 Australian Tour East Coast tour was rather loose as you might find in this clip. Putting the band together with the list of Lazy Misfits that have delivered to greatest of goods over the years, we dropped the 90 minute set for each venue nearly exhausting the audiences before the main act.. We gave thanks …

‘Drippin a Blaze’  TripHop Blitz

A seriously loose mix of frequencies out of impact of the mid summer swelter, Dripipin is one of those tracks that become a heady state of being as much as a blank canvas for rappers to jump around on.. One of the most requested Almost Lazy songs live, its tirelessly original every time its delivered as the inspiration to another dope MC..
